Customers eligible for tax exemption
[Non-residents with Japanese nationality]
You will need proof *1 that you have been residing outside of Japan for more than two consecutive years.*1 A "Certificate of Residence *2 " or "Copy of Family Register Attachment *3 " (both originals) issued within six months of the date of your last entry into Japan.*2 The Certificate of Residence must state the "date the address (or residence) was established" and the "land number of the registered domicile."*3 The copy of the family register attachment must state the "land number of the registered domicile."*Please check the Japan Tourism Agency website for more details.
Tax-free amount: ￥5,000 or more (excluding tax)
- *We cannot accept applications from a proxy.
- *Tax exemption cannot be applied for at a later date.
- *Tax exemption cannot be applied if the total amount of purchases made on other days is combined.
